The accomplishments our community achieved during my past four terms as CRD Director demonstrate what we can do when we focus on priorities and work together.
In our governance system, cooperation is the key to making progress. I will continue to work hard to resolve Trust Policy and Salt Spring’s Official Community Plan (OCP) in a way that strengthen the Trust’s ‘Preserve and Protect’ mandate, while addressing key socio-economic needs such as housing. I believe these are complementary, not conflicting goals.

In his four terms as CRD Director, the Salt Spring community has made significant progress on these issues. Gary is ready to keep working with Salt Spring Islanders as an Island Trustee to continue building on these successes.
